This archery club has started it’s activity since 1997 under the “Eurikartas” title, after some break in sport activity the nucleus of the Club revived its practice under the PLC “Oksalis” Jums name (since 2011 - plc "STRELE" , and new name - Strele Club has been accepted.
The Club constantly organizes various Field archery tournaments, it is a founder of Lithuanian Archery Association and members of in passed time took part in revival of Lithuanian Archery Federation.
The club carries it’s activity at it’s Archery Centre’s indoor archery range in Vilnius and at near the Trakai situated field archery course and set nearby the practicing field with elevated platform. . Somer times there is archery range operating at the Trakai peninsula castle. The wide scale tournaments according to IFAA rules being arranged all-year-round in the Vilnius suburb, near Trakai, at Kernave historical site and other picturesque sites of Lithuania.
Besides this aspect of archery as a natural follow-up of Field archery (especially 3-D disciplines) is the other one – bowhunting. Becouse this way of hunting is curently unleagal in Lithuania, the Club pays the utmost atthention to the popularization of this activity, for spreading of right information in the society and theoretical and practical preparations for the future hunts.
Third very important and rapidly expanding field of Club’s activity is medieval archery reconstruction. Since 2003 Club members activelly participate in Trakai Medieval Festivals and recent few years also in near Kernave staged Living Archaelogy Days. It is quite naturaly this resulted in close links with historians and archaelogists. Created in 2010 Medieval Archery System (MAS), which combines most of archery disciplines used in Medieval Europe and Asia. The system has a claim to become international, while the club next goal is to give rise to European Championships of this attractive to viewer type of archery.
