A claymore great sword is the Scottish variant of the late medieval two-handed longsword. It is characterised as having a cross hilt of forward-sloping quillons with quatrefoil terminations. It was in use from the 15th to 17th centuries. Jacob I (1394 – 1437), King of Scotland, was crowned in 1424 in Scone. After overwhelming the Albany clan because of the conspiracies against him when he was a child, he decreases the power of the feudal lords. Under his rule the Scottish laws were codified and a system of weights and measures was set. Remarkable poet. Assassinated by Sir Robert Graham in a conspiracy. For his bravery in the battle and strong hand for ruling his country, he was named THE LION OF SCOTLAND.
