Horn Mug, Beer Mug with Wooden Base and Odin Motif
This generously sized mug / tankard with handle is hand-crafted from horn, polished, and adorned with a carved motif of Odin. The wolves Geri (the greedy) and Freki (the ravenous) from Nordic mythology, who are close companions of God Odin, are sitting next to the Allfather of the Gods. Also depictured are the ravens Hugin and Munin (or Huginn and Muninn). In Norse mythology, the ravens fly over Asgard and Midgard and return every evening to the Allfather of the Gods (also referred to as Hrafnáss, the "raven god”) to tell him everything they have seen and heard.
The rustic, highly decorative drinking vessel we odder here is not only ideal for re-enactment purposes, but also for everyday use. Whether in a medieval setting or in a modern home, it will make for a true eye-catcher on any dining table.
For hygienic reasons, the drinking cup is sealed on the inside with a food-safe varnish so that you may enjoy your favourite beer (or mead) to the fullest.
A great gift for modern-day Vikings!
