Legionary Scutum 'Dura Europos', linen-covered

This late Roman scutum follows an original 3rd century piece found in the Roman fort of Dura-Europos (Eastern Syria). The dry desert climate of this region has preserved some painted Roman shields very effectively.
Our replica is made from plywood, covered in linen. It is hand-made and hand-painted.
The shield and boss are not assembled upon delivery. There are 4 screws included for self-assembly.
